FGF21 (fibroblast growth factor-21) is the hormone that increases in your body when you're on a ketogenic diet. It's sometimes called the "Atkins hormone" because it's the reason that the Atkins diet really does cause fat loss. It actually blocks the effects of growth hormone. That sounds bad but it causes your body to increase the amount of growth hormone it makes because your pituitary realizes that your body isn't responding to it so it shoots out even more of it. The thing that I am most interested in is the fact that it would instantly launch you into a ketogenic state that would cause very rapid fat loss while increasing insulin sensitivity. That means that you could put your body into a ketogenic state whenever you wanted to lose some fat and then just stop it whenever you felt like it, and you would skip the shitty feeling you get when you first go into a low carb diet. Even though it would basically be impossible to grow while using it, your body would most likely have a huge surge of growth when you stopped using it. I don't know, I'm just wondering if this stuff will be available to the public at all.

This also proves that the Atkins Diet is probably the worst diet to follow if you want to build muscle.
