Geranamine Tossica?

Well, to make it clear: the geranamine issue and the D2MP issue are two entirely different things. scientifically and morally.


"geranamine" was a mysterious name of a mysterious compound that nobody actually knew what it was. But: people KNEW that it was there. Moreover, it appears to be a very well tolerated substance and to not have any serious adverse effects. The "issue" with it was that people believed it was derived from geranium oil while in reality it was a chemically synthesized substance.

D2MP (well this is my personal, proprietary acronym for diphenylmethylpyrrolidine) was an entirelly different animal. It is a designer stimulant drug that has been used as a party pill in the udnerground scene. A certain company spiked their dietary supplement product with it (Slim Xtreme) and wrote: "proline" on the label instead of the real name or instead of the acronym.
The problem with this substance is that it is potentially cardiotoxic, psychotogenic and perhaps even neurotoxic. So, you actually get poison in a pill - and you think that you were taking plain "proline".

Now, THAT was a scandal, and it ultimately led to recall and discontinuation of this product as well as the company that made it being kicked from ****** with their entire product line.
